{"id":1047,"date":"2011-01-17T19:00:43","date_gmt":"2011-01-17T18:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.todoheavymetal.com\/?p=1047"},"modified":"2011-01-17T15:50:53","modified_gmt":"2011-01-17T14:50:53","slug":"stratovarius-elysium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.todoheavymetal.com\/index.php\/disco-del-mes\/stratovarius-elysium","title":{"rendered":"STRATOVARIUS &#8211; ELYSIUM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_mnwnCG0q9kM\/TSCtSGnGUDI\/AAAAAAAAILw\/yN2dK0B3BYo\/s1600\/Stratovarius%2B-%2BElysium%2B%2528The%2BTroopers%2BOf%2BMetal%2529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>Lo primero que tengo que decir es que despu\u00e9s de escuchar su anterior <em>Polaris<\/em>, las expectativas que ten\u00eda ante este <em>Elysium<\/em> no eran nada esperanzadoras, aunque despu\u00e9s de haberlo o\u00eddo tengo que deciros que me he llevado una grata sorpresa.<\/p>\n<p>En este nuevo trabajo, los finlandeses vuelven a dejarnos un disco muy \u201credondo\u201d, alej\u00e1ndose, esperemos que definitivamente, de la mediocridad que fue el \u00faltimo disco que hicieron con Timo Tolkki (el hom\u00f3nimo <em>Stratovarius)<\/em> y del anterior <em>Polaris<\/em> que, sinceramente, y bajo la perspectiva del tiempo creo que son dos discos totalmente prescindibles dentro de la ya extensa carrera de la banda.<\/p>\n<p>En este <em>Elysium<\/em> nos encontramos de nuevo con los STRATOVARIUS m\u00e1s cl\u00e1sicos. Canciones r\u00e1pidas, canciones mel\u00f3dicas, la caracter\u00edstica voz de Timo Kotipelto, esa bater\u00eda ultras\u00f3nica de J\u00f6rg Michael, los teclados de Jens Johansson y ahora la impronta de Matias Kupiainen a las seis cuerdas, olvidando ya al otrora as de la guitarra Timo Tolkki. Tambi\u00e9n cabe destacar al bajista Lauri Porra, con una interpretaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s que correcta en todos los temas del cd.<\/p>\n<p>Ya con las iniciales \u201c<em>Darkest hours\u201d<\/em> y \u201c<em>Under flaming skies\u201d<\/em> nos dejan claro que han vuelto, tanto compositivamente como estil\u00edsticamente a los tiempos m\u00e1s cl\u00e1sicos, con guitarras y teclados r\u00e1pidos, estribillos pegadizos y bater\u00eda y voz perfectamente reconocibles.<\/p>\n<p>Destacar tambi\u00e9n <em>\u201cInfernal maze\u201d <\/em>que aparte de esos coros y orquestaciones tiene la velocidad propia de los mejores temas de la banda y <em>\u201cThe game never ends\u201d<\/em> otro tema cl\u00e1sico donde los haya y donde los teclados se salen una vez m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Jens Johansson hace a lo largo y ancho de todos los temas del disco una labor encomiable, haci\u00e9ndonos recordar a aquel jovencito que ya nos sorprendi\u00f3 hace muchos a\u00f1os, tanto con Yngwie Malmsteen como en sus primeros trabajos con STRATOVARIUS y que ahora redescubrimos con estas nuevas composiciones.<\/p>\n<p><em>Elysium<\/em> tambi\u00e9n tiene esa balada tan t\u00edpica en STRATOVARIUS como es <em>\u201cMove the mountain\u201d,<\/em> con sus guitarras ac\u00fasticas y la voz de Kotipelto que desemboca en un medio tiempo, record\u00e1ndonos anteriores baladas de los fineses, aunque desde luego queda lejos de la ya m\u00edtica <em>\u201cForever\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Menci\u00f3n aparte merece ese mega tema, por la duraci\u00f3n del mismo, como es <em>\u201cElysium\u201d,<\/em> que aparte de dar nombre a la obra, la cierra de una manera majestuosa y que aunque con ciertos altibajos, nos hace un buen resumen de lo que es STRATOVARIUS, partes mel\u00f3dicas, veloces, arreglos orquestales\u2026 y que pone un punto y final muy digno a este disco.<\/p>\n<p>Por \u00faltimo decir que con este trabajo tenemos de vuelta a uno de los mejores exponentes de lo que fue el power metal de los noventa, una vez superados sus \u00abd\u00edas de vino y rosas\u201d que hicieron tambalear a esta gran agrupaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Larga vida a STRATOVARIUS!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Pelos<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lo primero que tengo que decir es que despu\u00e9s de escuchar su anterior Polaris, las expectativas que ten\u00eda ante este Elysium no eran nada esperanzadoras, aunque despu\u00e9s de haberlo o\u00eddo tengo que deciros que me he llevado una grata sorpresa.
