Dirk Schlaechter (GAMMA RAY) y Jörn Schubert (DARK AGE) han puesto en marcha un proyecto conjunto al que han puesto el nombre de NEOPERA y que según ellos mismos explican “es una fusión entre la música clásica y el heavy moderno”. Completan el grupo Thorsten Harnitz (batería),  Mirko Gluschke (voz), Thorsten Schuck (voz barítono), Nina Jiers (voz soprano).

El grupo ha lanzado su primer disco Destined Ways vía earMusic. Ahora se disponen a lanzarlo en EE.UU. de la mano de Eagle Rock.
